Government-Owned Corporation

If you are beginning a business, you need to know what all the details are that you need to take care of before you officially begin. There are many different types of business that you can become involved in. You just need to take the time to decide on what type of business is right for you.

A Government-owned corporation is usually one that is initially started by the government to take care of some type of business or commercial activity of some kind. There are usually no standards for what type of business can or cannot be a GOC.

SOE’s, or State Owned Enterprises, are types of businesses that are owned either partially or fully by the state. These types of businesses are usually not based on financial greed. They are usually simply considered state-owned so they don’t have any types of shareholders or business partners.

Although both of these types of business corporations have details that make them different, there are many things that make them alike as well. Unlike other types of businesses, SOE and GOC’s are mostly ran by the government so they do not go along with all the conventional laws that the other businesses are required to go by.

The taxes for SOE’s and GOC’s can also be different because they are technically considered government entities that are taken care of by the state of Texas. They usually don’t have to go by the same tax restrictions because they are not privately funded.
